blog entry from 7/31 - "busy weekend"
we had phoenix's birthday party yesterday. as usual we had a houseful. we had briefly talked about having it outside but it was just too hot for that. all in all it went very well. the theme was "Finding Nemo" and the cake turned out really well. thank goodness for capable bakery people. lol eric got "Guitar Hero" as a belated birthday gift and everyone had a turn with it that was there still. we got some pretty funny "rock out" pics with that, too. and Phoenix, of course, made out like a bandit. the funniest thing was when he opened his gift from V. she had gotten him a Go, Diego, Go toy set....and he was ready to dismiss everyone else afterward. haha! it was great.

today my mother in law had her hysterectomy. eric just called to let me know that she made it through with no complications and is now in the recovery room. he is going to go see her later this afternoon and if she feels up to it i may try to see if we can stop by after i get off work tonight.

and as my latest update on the weightloss, i've lost 24 lbs so far. that means i'm only 2 more lbs away from my summer goal! that is very exciting, indeed.

of course i still have a lot left as far as my overall total....but i am really feeling good about progress made so far.
